Sir Albemarle Bertie, 1st Baronet (1755–1824), was a distinguished officer of the British Royal Navy. Commissioned in 1771, he saw action at the Battle of the Saintes during the American Revolutionary War. Bertie advanced through the ranks, commanding ships in conflicts against France and Spain during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He was knighted and created a baronet for his naval achievements. As an admiral, he oversaw squadrons in the Mediterranean and Atlantic and contributed to key blockades.
