Born in Kassel in 1816 as Israel Beer Josaphat, Paul Reuter later moved to London and converted to Christianity. He began transmitting news using carrier pigeons and telegraph lines, connecting Aachen and Brussels. In 1851, Reuter established the Reuters news agency, offering timely financial and international news to clients. His innovations in message transmission laid the groundwork for modern wire services and journalistic networks. Reuter's agency grew into one of the world's leading news organizations, synonymous with fast and reliable reporting until his death in 1899.
