Junnosuke Inoue was born in 1869 in Hikone, Japan into a merchant family.
He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University with a law degree and entered public service.
Inoue held senior posts in the Ministry of Finance before joining the Bank of Japan.
He served as the 8th Governor of the Bank of Japan from 1913 to 1919 and again from 1923 to 1927.
During his tenures, he navigated challenges such as post-World War I inflation and financial crises.
Inoue advocated for currency stabilization and modern banking practices in Japan.
He also served in the Imperial Diet and contributed to Japan's economic policy reforms.
Inoue died in 1932, respected as an architect of Japan's early 20th-century financial institutions.
