Born in 1851, William Lever revolutionized the soap industry with the founding of Lever Brothers, introducing innovative marketing and factory practices. He developed the model village of Port Sunlight on the River Mersey to provide housing and amenities for his workers. Lever was ennobled as the 1st Viscount Leverhulme for his contributions to industry and society. A passionate art collector, he amassed works that now form significant museum collections. He balanced business success with social welfare initiatives until his death in 1925.
