Buffier's writings, including his 'Essais de morale et de politique', emphasized common sense principles and a naturalistic approach to moral and political thought. His work influenced the development of the Scottish Common Sense school and enlightened thinkers across Europe. Buffier also held the position of rector at the University of Paris and contributed to academic life through his administrative leadership. He died in 1737, leaving a legacy as a bridge between scholastic tradition and modern philosophical inquiry.
