Born in Hibbing, Minnesota, Vincent Bugliosi earned his law degree from UCLA and joined the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. As deputy district attorney, he led the prosecution against Charles Manson and his followers for the 1969 Tate–LaBianca murders, securing convictions in one of America's most notorious cases. Bugliosi's meticulous approach and compelling closing arguments became a model for criminal trials. He chronicled the Manson trial in his bestselling book 'Helter Skelter', which became the best-selling true-crime book of all time. Throughout his career, Bugliosi prosecuted numerous high-profile cases and taught criminal law at Pepperdine University. He wrote over a dozen books on legal history, true crime, and courtroom strategy. Bugliosi died on June 6, 2015, leaving an enduring impact on legal writing and prosecution standards.
