As co-founder of Orient Overseas Container Line, he built one of the world's leading shipping companies. In 1997 he became Hong Kong's first Chief Executive, overseeing the city's transition after British rule. During his tenure, he guided economic policy and infrastructure development while navigating complex Beijing relations. After stepping down in 2005, Tung continued to influence Hong Kong's business and political landscape. He remains a respected figure in both corporate and civic circles.
