Henri Nestlé was born in Frankfurt in 1814 and later established himself in Switzerland as a skilled confectioner and chemist. In 1867 he developed the first successful infant cereal formula, which dramatically reduced infant mortality. He founded the Nestlé Company to manufacture and distribute his life-saving nutritional product. Under his guidance, the company expanded rapidly, becoming a global leader in food and beverage. Nestlé's focus on research and quality set new standards in industrial food production. He died on July 7, 1890, leaving a multinational enterprise that bears his name to this day.
