Robert Swan (born 1956) is an English explorer and environmental advocate, renowned as the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles. He has dedicated his expeditions to raising awareness of climate change and promoting renewable energy solutions.
In the late 1980s, Swan completed unsupported walks to the South and North Poles, becoming the first person to achieve this feat on foot. Motivated by concerns over melting ice and global warming, Swan founded the 2041 Foundation to engage leaders and youth in polar conservation. Through lectures, workshops, and green initiatives, the foundation works to preserve polar environments for future generations. Swan has received honors such as the Polar Medal and an honorary doctorate for his environmental leadership. He continues to lead expeditions and inspire global efforts to combat climate change.
