World Scout Scarf Day
An annual global event on August 1 inviting Scouts and Guides to wear their scarves in solidarity and celebrate the unifying symbol of Scouting.
World Scout Scarf Day encourages members of the Scouting and Guiding movements to wear their scarves and share images on social media using the hashtag #ScoutScarf. Introduced by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, the day highlights the scarf’s symbol of unity, friendship, and service. Scout groups organize community service projects, scarf-design workshops, and storytelling sessions about Scouting traditions. The diverse colors and patterns of scarves worldwide reflect each region’s heritage and shared values. By wearing their scarves, youth and leaders demonstrate commitment to helping others and fostering global citizenship. The celebration reinforces the worldwide fellowship of Scouting and its mission to build a better world through education and action.
