Within the Roman Curia, he held senior administrative roles, advising on church governance and global mission strategies. Baldelli championed interfaith dialogue and promoted the Church's outreach in both Europe and Latin America. He is remembered for his dedication to diplomatic service and his efforts to strengthen the unity of the Catholic Church.

Martin Wharton is an English cleric of the Church of England who led the Diocese of Newcastle for nearly two decades. Educated at Cambridge University and trained at Westcott House, he was ordained as a priest in 1971. Prior to his appointment in Newcastle, he served as Bishop of Kingston. Wharton is recognized for his work on social justice, interfaith dialogue, and community outreach. Even after retiring in 2015, he has remained active in charitable initiatives and church affairs.
