International Cat Day

A global observance celebrating cats and promoting their welfare and adoption.
Established by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in 2002, International Cat Day raises awareness about feline care and rescue. Animal shelters and rescue groups hold adoption events, educational seminars, and fundraising drives throughout August. Social media campaigns featuring cat stories, photos, and videos help highlight responsible ownership and spaying/neutering. The day fosters appreciation for cats' companionship and encourages communities to support animal welfare initiatives. It has become a favorite among pet lovers and organizations dedicated to protecting feline health and habitats.
