Steve Fossett was born in 1944 and built a career as a pioneering aviator and explorer. He set more than 100 world records in aviation, sailing, and balloon flight. In 2002, Fossett became the first person to complete a solo nonstop flight around the world in a balloon. He also achieved solo circumnavigation in fixed-wing aircraft and gliders, showcasing his relentless pursuit of new challenges. Disappearing during a glider flight in 2007, his remains were found the following year, solidifying his status as one of history's greatest adventurers.
