Rudolf Christoph Eucken (1846–1926) was a German philosopher and scholar. He served as a professor at the University of Jena and was acclaimed for his work on moral and spiritual values. In 1908 he received the Nobel Prize in Literature for his expansive writings on idealist philosophy. His major works include 'The Meaning and Value of Life' and 'The Development of Philosophy', which influenced neo-Kantian thought. Eucken advocated for an active realization of moral ideals and stressed the importance of individual spiritual development. He remained an influential voice in European intellectual circles until his death in 1926.
