Born in Łopuszno, Poland, Andrzej Czok honed his skills in the Tatra Mountains, mastering technical winter ascents.
He became a prominent member of the Polish Himalayan school, participating in pioneering winter expeditions.
He contributed to the first winter climbs of Dhaulagiri and Everest, showcasing advanced high-altitude techniques.
In early 1986 alongside Jerzy Kukuczka, he made the first winter ascent of Cho Oyu's north face, a groundbreaking achievement.
Tragically, he died during the descent, but his daring spirit continues to inspire mountaineers around the world.
