In his later years, he embraced Eastern philosophies and experimented with psychedelic substances, documented in works like The Doors of Perception (1954). A versatile essayist and social critic, Huxley influenced literary and philosophical thought across the 20th century. He passed away on the same day as President Kennedy’s assassination in 1963.
