Ulrich Inderbinen was a legendary Swiss mountain guide whose career spanned over seven decades.
He led climbers on more than 3,700 successful ascents of Alpine summits, including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
Born and raised in Zermatt, he developed a lifelong passion for the high Alps.
Even into his 90s, he was guiding clients up steep, icy routes, admired for his endurance and expertise.
His cautious but determined approach made him a respected mentor in the mountaineering community.
He died in 2004 at age 103, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire mountain adventurers.
