Known for his refined manners and loyalty to the king, he participated in court ceremonies and military campaigns. His sister, Madame de Montespan, was the king’s influential favorite, strengthening his family’s standing. Mortemart managed estates, acted as an advisor on court affairs, and upheld the traditions of French nobility. He died in 1698, leaving behind a legacy of service and devotion to the Sun King’s reign.
